Welcome to Senior Spaces!

Welcome to the Old Bridge Public Library’s “Senior Spaces” Project—our Library’s place for baby boomers, older adults and their families.  Our concept grew out of the need to develop a “transition center” which was identified as part of our Strategic Planning Process.  This “transition center” was to develop programs and services for recent active retirees that were interested in meaningful volunteer opportunities and those looking for second careers.  As we moved from concept to development we realized that we could do more to not only serve the “baby boomers” and go beyong this “transition center” but also to enhance and expand our already developing services to older adults.  Thus “Senior Spaces” was born; the first library in New Jersey to develop such a project.

INFOLINK is delighted with the Senior Spaces model incubator project and has contracted with the Old Bridge Public Library to support Library Director, Margie Cyr, Project Manager Allan Kleiman and this member library’s efforts to redefine library services to older adults.
This is a major diversity issue impacting libraries and the focus fits right into INFOLINK’s strategic plan. I appreciate the foresight of the INFOLINK executive Board on its decision to partner with Old Bridge Public Library on this initiative.
